Day 29 and Gajra Pic

I don't feel like grumbling. I've had a good day. Despite barely five hours of sleep, I managed to

  • get a lot of work done,

  • do some chhablami,

  • eat too much lunch,

  • buy aamloki from colleague (what do you call aamloki in English? I just can't remember!),

  • eat some aamloki,

  • distribute some aamloki to the gang at work,

  • try to recruit WIAN? for a summer job (offer is open btw for wannabe journos and folks with free time on their hands),

  • fail to recruit WIAN? for a summer job,

  • meet a skinny (gay?) guy who shuns carbonated drinks bcoz they will add much flab to his reed-thin frame,

  • get boss to read article and hear him say, "good" :D,

  • get company to go home by auto,

  • get that long-awaited haircut. (It's a lot like the Bon Jovi cut I had last year this time except that it's not rock-chick at all. Go figure!),

  • eat falsa post dinner,

  • chat briefly with best friend, and

  • log on to Orkut after a very, very, very long time.

I'm in the mood to put up a nice pic of me and my best friend (even at the cost of resembling a six-year-old) but I can't find it :( So here is an ancient, ancient, very ancient picture of my bestie and me:

P.S.: Notice the gajra in the hair.

@ Onn
Thankee [blush blush].. Best friend also says thankee. We were off to the disc that evening. Sadly, due to our adolescent desire to fit in, the gajras were only a temporary accessory.

It ain't called aamloki in English. Not even in italics :(

Have mentioned more about the hair in the next post.

The summer journo job pays. All you need to do is mail me a CV, some writing samples, and drop in to office to meet my boss sometime. Lemme know if that works for you :D

@ WIAN?
You, my friend, can be a blogger... if you don't want to get paid or meet my boss. Check out the blogs on the site and lemme know if you have a post that you think fits. Can't accept everything, but anything with a Kolkata flavour works.

@ Coffee
Are you trying to scare me?

@ Onn
This thing holds good for June. Do let me know. And get hold of a boy journo or two if you can, will you?

@ Dreamy
I only found four qt marks (yes, I counted), and 2 of them are part of What's in a Name's name. Is that really too many?

a boy journo?
umm.will try.
although i wonder how many 'guys' would love being called a 'boy' journo:P

Ah! Where's this job based?

Why no rock-chick? :'(

What's aamloki? Is it Bangla for aavla/aamla? Do I sound completely ignorant?
