Passport adventure postponed to Monday. Hopefully, given that it's Mahalaya and all, the office will remain open then. I would appreciate some company if anyone likes standing in queue from 4.30 in the morning. :D (Notice the winning smile)
I think I'll spend the rest of the morning reading. Eye issues still persist, couldn't meet the doc yesterday. Sigh. Chaap e chaap. Will somebody exchange lives with me for a few days please?

ekhono 'eye issues' ?????
my passport experience was harrowing to the power infinity. After standing for 4 long hours in a queue which never moved I realised that would be better to sent the form by post from the GPO and get the verification done there. That meant getting a DD done from the State Bank Branch of Dalhousie. There the line was of a mealy 10. But the clerk was clueless about how the note-counting machine worked. Some dadu's 85 500-rupee notes would always show 84. :( That queue of 10 took me 2 hours straight. Then came the GPO where it was relatively a smooth sailing of sorts. Verification of originals and all. It only took me half an hour.
Conclusion: 1 Indian Passport = 7 hours of unadulterated toil.
Advice : Brace yourself for the worst.
P.S - The online application forms don't take so much time though. :)
